Benefits:
Practices tailored for the individual by a yoga therapist may help a wide range of disorders including: stress related problems; physical ailments including back and joint issues; breathing disorders; issues for women during PMS, pregnancy and menopause; mental and emotional issues such as anxiety, depression; postural and balance problems. Yoga may help patients recovering from injuries, surgery, and illness. It may also enhance the quality of life for patients with chronic diseases.
What you can expect
A yoga practice designed to meet your needs, lifestyle and interests for home practice. This will generally include yoga postures (asana) and some breathing exercises (pranayama). It may also include elements of relaxation, meditation, and personal reflection, depending on your interest. It will take into account the amount of time available and time of day you will practice. You will be given a copy to practice regularly at home. This will be reviewed and developed as necessary in subsequent meetings.
If practice outside the sessions is difficult sessions can be planned accordingly.
Sessions are usually monthly, and more frequent at the beginning. Students committing to 4-6 sessions find most benefit, many continue for years.
